House #1:This is James' favorite house. He first saw it October 2008 and it was the first mid modern building that he knew was a mid modern building.
It is on a large lot, a pool, a sunken family room, original kitchen, shadow block courtyard, and it is the only one he has seen with a wrap around glass back.
He has been waiting for this to go on the market, and was finally able to put in an offer. He is now awaiting an answer.

House #2: James thinks this is the oldest home designed by Sprall. It was built in 1962. The courtyard and the glassback are still intact. The inside of the roof is covered in wood. James likes this feature.
The bad side, it is missing a bath tub and the kitchen has been remodeled and looks like an apartment kitchen. The lot is small and the landscaping needs improvement.

House #3: This is the largest Sprall A-Frame, but it lost it's character because the courtyard is missing and the glassback is gone, and to characteristic features.
The house looks like a box.

House #4: This is a Sprall a-frame remodel done well. It has a glass front, sunken livingroom with a one of a kind fireplace, a glass back, 2 master bedrooms and an overall gothic asian look.
The negative is the lot is small, and only room for 3 cars.

I like the last one best. Looks like it's probably in the best condintion. But then looks can be deceiving. Hope you guys get the best one out there for you!
ReplyDeleteThe last one is in the best condition. It is move in ready and will require the least amount of work to be done.
